He added, in response to a question PlayStation Blog: “I could not comment on other editors, but I think it’s a safe assumption that we believe will see that it happens more often than yes. ”

Next PSP Packs 4-Core Cell CPU

Last week there was talk of Sony introducing another PSP at E3 this year. The evidence, based on nothing more than whispers of the game publishers with marketing budgets increased Q4 was not exactly strong, many saw the Sony PSP2 as a way to redeem himself and recover PSPgo. Today we have more evidence that the PSP2 there and according to these reports, the device is a powerful machine.

VG247 has more information about the PSP2 and cites sources close to the matter, there is only one per cent chance that we’ll see revealed at E3. “Multiple British sources” say PSP2 NDAs have been in place at UK publishers for months and state that though they were aiming for a 2010 release before,  it looks like a statement of 2011, most likely. Consequently, the sources quoted or launch Gamescom Tokyo Games Show in 2011.

The device has a touch screen, but retains the traditional PlayStation buttons. VG247 was told the device is powerful, and based on a four-core Cell CPU. Another said he/she would be “amazed” if there was any physical media involved and VG247 reports hearing sketchy rumors  that this device would be 3G and WiFi WiFi, compared to only PSPgo.

Though there have apparently been “finished units” in the United Kingdom, no one they had spoken to had seen a final version.

Sands Is Entirely Unique, PSP Version Of Forgotten

You know, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is is coming to the PSP, too, and not a watered down port over the console versions.

We learned this property by checking a recent blog post on the PlayStation, by Ubisoft producer Joel Vignola. Firstly, it states that the game is certainly not based on the film – starring Jake Gyllenhaal, coming out soon – and that the PSP version is a complete “play only one built from scratch specifically for the PSP. ” He will say that the adventure is new, the situation is new, and the powers of the prince are all new. ” We really like the sound of being able to speed up and slow down certain objects within the game, and solidifying new paths of sand for passage.

As an added bonus for users of the PSP and PS3, you can connect the two versions together, which will grant you “the original Sands of Time costume for the Prince to wear in the PSP version of Forgotten Sands.” There’s also a really cool new trailer through the Blog link, so you should check it out. The PSP has a lot of great software but it tends to get overlooked in certain situations, like when the console versions of a certain game get all the attention. It’s bound to happen sometimes, right?

The fact that it launches on the same day as Red Dead Redemption shouldn’t deter you. Prince of Persia has been a star for years.

PSP Sales Were Down, PS3 Sales Were Up in 2009

Today Sony released its results for fiscal 2009 (April 1 to March 31), and where there are no results, not numbers of hardware sales.

Networking products and services division – of which Sony Computer Entertainment is a part – saw its sales fall by 10%, the company blaming exchange rates, along with both a decline in sales of Vaio computers and the PlayStation Portable for the drop.

This label is justified in the case of the PSP, which fell from 14.1 million units sold in 2008 to just 9.9 million in 2009. This is a sharp decline, despite the launch of the PSPgo, and it will show that not only you who want a new PSP. Sony could do too much.

On the positive side, despite the collapse of the NP & S sales and a total loss for the year for Sony as a whole, the PS3 beats following the rise from 10.1 million units sold in 2008 – 13 million in 2009 (with projections of 15 million copies sold in 2010).

Finally, showing the PlayStation 2 is far from an afterthought, the old warhorse sold 7.3 million units in FY 2009, an admirable performance considering it sold 7.9 million the year before. If the PSP is not careful, you can slide fast enough to be surpassed in sales in fiscal 2010 for a console that was ten years old.

Rumour – Sony’s existing PSP sales plummet

Sony may be planning an update to the PSP often used as a new evidence revealed today. An editor of the handheld is considered by CVD should expect a Sony announcement, perhaps for the hardware before we can talk about new games, two developers are most important to significantly increase their marketing budget for autumn this year. These steps are often the precursors of a new console from Sony and other titles commonly used in the development of key selling points for new systems.

The news was timed just before E3 in mid-June and could foreshadow a redesigned model in case of game, where it is expected that the new Nintendo hardware at least.

What replace or supplement the PSP is not clear, talk phones has been around the PSP and drive e-hybrids, but it may also simply a result most advanced PSP with an acceleration of graphics and other updates to keep not only Nintendo 3DS but the iPhone and iPod touch. The console was in 3D performance and uses an older technology such as 802.11b Wi-Fi, and until the PSP GB of storage does not own.

The update may be necessary in practice as Sony today reported a sharp drop in sales of the PSP for its last fiscal year. For 12 months ended in March, Sony has sold only 9.9 million consoles games it had sold 14.1 million years past. Nintendo DS online is still a clear majority, but largely accepted the failure of the PSP Go and rapid aging of the nature of PSP materials have played a role in the performance of Sony.

Apple may be in some cases, a greater threat to Sony today. Between 2008 and 2009, the iPhone and iPod touch has reduced the sales of PSP game in half even though many iPhone games cost only a fraction of the PSP counterpart. The PSP Go was a direct response to the iPod touch, but the lack of weight platform and advanced Internet application, a compact design and other factors have resulted in Apple’s advantage.

Sony’s current salvation is its full-size PS3 console, which finally became profitable this year and is selling briskly thanks to the slim model and its according price drop.
