Tips on how to Watch PSP UMD Movies on Your Television

Applying the video out function and video cables on a PSP 2000 or 3000 model, you can watch your UMD movies on a tv–even a large flatscreen tv. Although it is arguable no matter whether or not the video is really “DVD quality” as is from time to time claimed, UMD movies appear pretty good, even on a seriously big television screen. Sadly, this will not work on an old PSP-1000 (or “PSP Fat”) model, but when you have a 2000 or 3000 model PSP, your set to watch UMD videos on your tv.

Connect the AV cable to the video out port on the bottom of one’s PSP. Connect the other end of the AV cable to the appropriate ports on your tv. A component cable will have 5 color-coded plugs to insert plus a composite cable will have three.

Turn on your television and pick the required input. Turn on your PSP. Once it has began up completely, press and hold the display button on the front on the PSP (that is the button using the curved rectangle like a tv screen on it). The PSP screen need to go black plus the PSP’s usual display will appear on your television screen.

Insert your UMD movie into the PSP’s UMD drive (in case you haven’t already) and navigate to the “Video” menu using the PSP’s buttons just as you would in the event you had been going to watch the movie on your PSP screen. Uncover the movie within the “Video” menu and press the X button to start it playing. You could use all of the very same buttons to navigate your UMD movie as you’d should you had been watching it on your PSP.

When your movie is over, press and hold the display button again, as well as the display will disappear from your tv and reappear on your PSP. Disconnect the cables from your television and PSP.
